What is Katonah Yoga?
Katonah Yoga® is an intelligent methodology rooted in classical yoga practices (including Hatha, Iyengar, Kundalini, and Tantra), Taoism, mythology, sacred geometry, and the patterns of great nature. It is refined through practical tools such as measure, map reading, metaphor, and strategic use of props, designed to reorganize and reorient your practice and your life!
These classes are informed by the teachings of Nevine Michaan, founder of Katonah Yoga®.

Kelsey Brusnyk
Teacher of Ayurveda and Yoga
Ayurveda health counselor, chef and treatment therapist
Student of Vedic astrology
And first and foremost, student of life
I’m Kelsey, and my personal ongoing transformation of body and mind - along with having spent many years walking students and clients through the same - fuels my love and enthusiasm for teaching others to skillfully navigate physical, mental and spiritual life so that they can live the vibrant life at their full potential that they’re meant for.

Kelsey completed her first yoga teacher training in 2009 and has been teaching ever since - including having co-taught 200 and 300-hour Yoga teacher trainings for over a decade. She also provides Ayurveda health consultations, education, and bodywork, and introductory Vedic astrology readings.

I remember sitting at a music festival, watching people dance freely. No restriction. No hesitation. Fully expressed.
I remember thinking, I could never live like that.
Not with judgment, but from a feeling of numbness and distance. I felt like I was standing just outside of life, observing it instead of inhabiting it. Afraid to take up space. Afraid to be seen. Undernourished. Overstimulated. Disconnected from my own body.
That was the moment I realized I was not really living my life. I was managing it.
Then I found yoga.
For the first time, I felt myself land. My feet on the ground. My breath moving through me. Strength where there had been fragility. Each time I stepped onto the mat, something reorganized. I was not just moving my body. I was meeting myself.
My practice became a way to redefine my relationship with myself and the world around me. To feel instead of avoid. To participate instead of watch.
That was when I understood that healing was not something that would arrive from the outside. It was something I would have to reclaim.
My path eventually led me to acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. The quiet movement of Qi in a treatment felt familiar. Subtle. Precise. Intelligent. The same deep embodiment I experienced in yoga lived there too.
Both practices taught me that healing is not dramatic. It is not instant. It is a steady remembering. A returning. A rebuilding of trust with your own body.
To reclaim your healing is to move from surviving to participating. From fragmentation to coherence. From feeling lost to feeling oriented again.
This is the work I now offer.
I am a Registered Acupuncturist and Katonah Yoga® teacher. I weave ancient systems with modern life. I help you reconnect to your body, unwind stuck patterns, and develop resilience that is sustainable, informed, and practical.
Healing is not about fixing you. It is about reclaiming the balance within yourself that may have been forgotten.
My background bridges evidence and metaphor. I am certified through the College of Complementary Health Professionals of British Columbia and the Katonah Yoga® Center. I have worked alongside reproductive health clinics, supporting patients through IVF, IUI, and complex fertility journeys. I am also a graduate of the Woman Unveiled School of Women’s Mysteries, where I studied shadow work, cyclical living, and the depth of the feminine psyche.
I reclaimed my healing slowly, deliberately, and with support.
You can do the same.
This work is an invitation to come back into your body.
Back into rhythm.
Back into a life you are not watching from the sidelines, but fully inhabiting.
